About the Role

Software Engineers at Mastercard design and code artificial intelligence, cloud, and machine learning platforms that provide mission-critical insights to many of the world's leading organizations and governments. As a Vice President GenAI, you will deliver these tools and solutions with speed and agility as part of a small team. This will involve developing high-performing, highly scalable software AI and ML solutions and products for some of the world's top brands.

As a Vice President, Gen AI at Mastercard, you are expected to perform the following general responsibilities:

Hands-on with developing GenAI solutions for Payment Networks including in the development of various ML/AI services such as MCP server, Vibe Coding Platform and Agent AI services.

Manages the RTGS, Reporting aspect of the Customer Funds Management within Treasury Services and the teams that engineer that critical portion of Settlement.

Formally supervise and coach teams of engineers to build, enhance, and support tools, services and products to support the Payment Networks group in the delivery of internal Products, Platforms, or services.

Drive the implementation of Vibe Coding solutions; Model Context Protocol servers, Agentic AI solutions including Retrieval Augmented Generation RAG) solutions.

Provide strategic thinking and leadership related GenAI for Payment Networks applications and systems.

Recruit and hire the right talent, always bringing in someone better than at least half the individuals in the role

Continuously engage and improve teams' performance by conducting recurring 1-1 meetings, knowing your people, managing career development, and understanding who is at risk

Continuously build a strong network across the company for collaboration on technical and business solutions

Emulate and drive Mastercard Way behaviors through their behavior, recognitions, coaching, and employee engagement

Own relationships with key stakeholders across Architecture and Technology, Infrastructure, and Product





All About You

Experience with Machine Learning Algorithms, AI and GenAI tools and processes.

Knowledge about GenAI designs and architectural patterns including MCP (Model Context Protocol), Agentic AI, Retrieval Augment Generation (RAG) and current LLM's

Deep expertise in cloud-native development private (Pivotal) and public (AWS, Azure, GCP)

Optimize for both cost as well as performance and choosing models that are optimal given the business and technology environment

Excellent understanding of software architecture principles and design patterns

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at multiple levels

Demonstrated ability to recruit, develop, and retain top engineering talent

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Mastercard benefits for full time (and certain part time) employees generally include: insurance (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, life insurance); flexible spending account and health savings account; paid leaves (including 16 weeks of new parent leave and up to 20 days of bereavement leave); 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time, 25 days of vacation time and 5 personal days, pro-rated based on date of hire; 10 annual paid U.S. observed holidays; 401k with a best-in-class company match; deferred compensation for eligible roles; fitness reimbursement or on-site fitness facilities; eligibility for tuition reimbursement; and many more.

New York City, New York: $240,000 - $384,000 USD
