Title and Summary

Vice President, Product Strategy, Product Enterprise OVERVIEW

The mission of the Products & Engineering (P&E) Strategy Team is to support the Chief Product Officer (CPO) in strategy development and execution across Mastercard's P&E business lines.

Position reports to the SVP of Product and Engineering Strategy.

RESPONSIBILITIES of the Vice President, Enterprise Strategy
Play a leading role in developing, formulating and communicating P&E strategies and objectives
Partner with business leaders to design, evaluate and advance their strategies, ensuring alignment with P&E strategies and objectives
Support P&E senior leadership in developing business-unit and product-level strategies across all P&E areas of focus

Provide technical expertise to further drive product and engineering coming together, a strong technical lens to strategy and insights
Apply thought leadership, strategic and analytical rigor to product strategies to drive structure and deeper insights
Act as a thought partner to the business to help prioritize and structure exciting strategic and innovation agendas (e.g., monetization for new innovative solutions/products)
Support the development of innovative solutions/product strategies to a diverse range of complex market/industry/competition challenges
Define, structure, evaluate and execute strategic initiatives including gathering and generation of relevant data, driving analyses, and the development of actionable recommendations
Drive growth agenda and profitability plans through socialization of issues and potential solutions
Observe market trends and evolutions, monitor the organization's performance against targets and evaluate potential issues in order to implement action plans
Identify, structure, and prioritize key issues. Define problem statements and develop overall solutions
Develop board-level growth strategies, leveraging market insight and analysis
Ensure alignment of strategy to investment opportunities
Support the business to explore opportunities for MA to creatively partner with others (e.g., fintechs) to accelerate commercial or broader agenda
Help shape communications of strategic recommendations to drive alignment across P&E and the regions

ALL ABOUT YOU

Deep tech expertise coupled with an ability to think very strategically both to problem solve but also identify future state opportunities

Track record of formulating, implementing and enhancing corporate strategic initiatives and business plans

Success evaluating complex strategic initiatives, facilitating, influencing and contributing to design and advancement

Demonstrated ability to identify gaps and opportunities for the company, assess and support or lead with business units to drive thinking and execution.

Demonstrated ability to think both deeply and broadly – be able to understand a complex product or issue while also contextualizing and connecting the dots with our overall strategy and business;
Success drawing insights from a broad range of industries and/or markets and reflecting them in solutions and strategies
Experience establishing oneself as an advisor to collaborate with stakeholders at the global/regional or local level. Be comfortable taking the lead or standing in support, all in partnership to the business.
Strong relationship building skills and highly collaborative; excellent listening skills and successful at facilitating/guiding senior executives/colleagues
Intellectual and analytical curiosity, who can manage multiple priorities in time sensitive and challenging/dynamic environments
Track record of impact and execution of strategic and critical projects requiring business analysis or problem solving skills, scope management and tangible outputs
Experience leading cross-functional teams/projects and helping frame, design and execute solutions for challenging business problems
Experience leading/motivating and managing teams and mentoring other colleagues
Strong oral and written communication skills, including communicating thoughts, ideas, and solutions logically in oral and written form
Strong collaborative skills with ability to be effective outside the business unit and without need for reporting relationships
