Type: Full Time Salaried
Compensation: $245,000 (Target Salary)
Location: Fully Remote, must be in the United States
Hours: Full Time Days

What to Expect:
The Chief of Staff (CoS) is a high-impact, enterprise-level role, functioning as a strategic advisor and operational partner to the CEO and Executive Committee. The role extends the capacity of the CEO and Executive Committee by driving the operational cadence, and ensuring the necessary rigor and discipline needed to scale a dynamic and fast-growing healthcare services organization. The Chief of Staff (CoS) contributes to aligning enterprise-wide initiatives, facilitating executive decision-making, and driving execution of key business priorities. This role functions as an integrator across departments, a counselor to senior leadership, a manager of high-impact cross-functional projects, and a steward of executive-level communications. The organization will function with a higher degree of clarity and purpose as efforts are prioritized more effectively, stakeholders are better aligned, and accountability is clear.
Responsibilities:
Executive Operations & Leadership Coordination
- Lead and facilitate the cadence of executive leadership operations, including Executive meetings, strategic planning sessions, and leadership reviews.
- Define and implement standard operating procedures that support executive priorities and organizational alignment.
- Serve as a proxy for the CEO in internal meetings, representing strategic intent and relaying critical outcomes and directives.
- Provide thought partnership to the CEO on strategy and operational interdependencies as appropriate.
- Serve as a liaison between the CEO/ELT and key stakeholders—including staff, payors, partners, and vendors.
- Partner with the CEO and Executive Committee to define quarterly Board meeting themes, strategic narratives, and agenda structure.
- Lead the creative planning, storyboarding, and content development process for Board presentations, ensuring clear, compelling, and aligned messaging.
- Oversee slide deck creation, including synthesis of strategic, financial, and operational data into executive-level content.
- Provide coaching and preparation support to executive presenters to ensure effective Board engagement.
- Manage timelines for Board material development, review cycles, and distribution, ensuring final deliverables are high quality, consistent, and timely.
Strategic Execution & Project Management
- Lead strategic initiatives and mission-critical projects as assigned, that span cross-functional, organization swim lanes and are time-sensitive in nature.
- Develop strategic content in support of growth initiatives and investor coordination, including materials for Board meetings, all-hands communications, and executive summaries.
- Track high-priority deliverables and ensure timely follow-through on leadership decisions and commitments.
Cross-Functional Communication & Alignment
- Act as a multiplier for executive leadership by ensuring clarity of communication, alignment of goals, leadership cohesions and follow-through across departments.
- Partner with Sr. Dir, Strategic Communications to drive the strategic communications process up and down the organization, providing narrative support, helping shape key messages, and gathering field intelligence.
- Ensure internal stakeholders understand the "why" behind strategic shifts and initiatives.
- Foster a performance-driven, values-aligned culture that reflects Matrix's whole-person care mission.
Qualifications
Must Haves:
Qualifications & Experience
- Master's degree in Business Administration or related field strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive experience, including:
- Strategy consulting, investment banking, project/program management
- Operational leadership within a high-growth or high-performance healthcare organization.
- Proven track record leading large-scale strategic and operational initiatives in complex, regulated environments and with minimal oversight—experience in M&A integration, transformations, systems implementations strongly preferred
- Experience supporting or advising senior executives in a strategic, fast-paced environment.
