Responsible for project management, stakeholder engagement, communications management, performance tracking and reporting, and project resource management. Works closely with a set of workstreams/portfolios and their respective executive sponsor(s), to drive project success and contribute to the overall goals of the organization.

Responsibilities

Portfolio Leadership:

·         Provide strategic leadership for a set of portfolios, aligning project activities with organizational objectives.

·         Collaborate with executive sponsors to understand business objectives and ensure project alignment.

Stakeholder Engagement and Management:

·         Identify, engage, and manage stakeholders at various levels.

·         Foster positive relationships with executive sponsors, project teams, and other relevant stakeholders.

Communications Management:

·         Develop and implement effective communication strategies for the portfolios.

·         Ensure clear and transparent communication within the project teams and with stakeholders.

Performance Tracking and Reporting:

·         Establish performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) for projects within the portfolios.

·         Track project performance against established metrics and prepare regular reports for executive sponsors and the Director of PMO.

Project Resource Management & Capacity Planning:

·         Work closely with Project Managers to allocate resources effectively.

·         Collaborate with the Resource Management team to address resource constraints and optimize capacity.

·         Conduct capacity planning exercises to ensure that the team can meet the demands of the portfolios.

·         Anticipate resource needs and work proactively to address capacity challenges.

Risk Management:

·         Identify and assess risks associated with projects within the portfolios.

·         Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies in collaboration with project teams.

Project Management:

·         Manage all stages of the projects assigned with minimal support, including planning, implementing and monitoring activities.

·         Work with managers and team members to develop appropriate methodology plans and activities with appropriate tasks, resources, milestones, cost analysis and timelines.

·         Provide all levels of project communications and work with project sponsors or product owners to resolve issues, address changes and identify risks.

Continuous Improvement:

·         Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the portfolios, identifying areas for optimization and efficiency gains.

Other:

·         Performs other duties as assigned.



Qualifications

Qualifications

Education and Experience

·         Bachelor's degree in project management, Business Administration, Health Administration, related field (master's degree preferred) or equivalent work experience.

·         Proven experience as a Portfolio Manager or in a similar role.

·         7 years' experience managing successful projects using a formal methodology life cycle.

Professional Certification

·         Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification (preferred).

Technical Skills and Knowledge

·         Strong understanding of project management methodologies and best practices.

·         Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

·         Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.

·         Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
