Schedule: Monday-Friday, 10:30am-7:00pm
General Summary of Position
Assists in supervising admitting and/or registration staff and provides leadership for related activities in assigned area. Performs all functions of patient registrar.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies procedures quality standards and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.
- Assists in training orienting and assigning department staff. Assists in evaluating performance. Makes recommendations for personnel actions. Maintains ongoing communication with staff to review programs provide feedback discuss new developments and exchange information.
- Monitors registration practices in assigned area and helps to ensure that unsatisfactory practices are corrected.
- Ensures that faulty equipment (computers and related devices) are reported for repair quickly; follows up on outstanding repair orders.
- Performs all functions of Patient Access Associate as required.
- Stocks and controls department supplies.
- Participates in multi-disciplinary quality and service improvement teams.
Minimal Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Knowledge of medical terminology required
Experience
- Related healthcare experience including patient registration required
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Working knowledge of various computer software applications.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment.
- Ability to perform well with frequent interruptions and to communicate calmly when dealing with emotional patients and visitors.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
This position has a hiring range of
USD $20.17 - USD $35.04 /Hr.
