MedStar Medical Group II, LLC d/b/a MedStar Medical Group has an opening for a Cardiac Electrophysiologist to join our team!
Job Duties:
Perform studies to assess complex arrhythmias, elucidate symptoms, evaluate abnormal electrocardiograms, assess risks of developing arrhythmias in the future, and design treatment, and advancements and changes in treatment methods. Perform a range of drug therapies as well as implantation of devices to help regulate abnormal heartbeats such as pacemakers and implantable cardioverter-defibrillators. Perform multidisciplinary rounds on the inpatient service, immunosuppression management and discharge planning for hospital's inpatients that may be required at any hour of day or night. Follow all established HIMS policies for maintenance and signing of medical records, monitor progress, review test results and address treatment changes as necessary. Research cardiac electrophysiology surgical techniques and participate in the pre-, intra-, and post-operative assessments of cardiac surgery patients undergoing electrophysiology treatment and surgery. Lead large retrospective studies with a concentration in electrophysiology and associated techniques, including assessing impact of new and novel treatment and surgical approaches to heart failure.
Requirements:
Position requires a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree or foreign equivalent.
Position requires completion of a three-year Internal Medicine residency program, a three-year Cardiovascular Disease fellowship program, and a two-year Cardiac Electrophysiology fellowship program.
Position also requires a valid District of Columbia medical license; Board Certification in Cardiovascular Disease, The American Board of Internal Medicine; and Board Certification in Internal Medicine, The American Board of Internal Medicine.
