General Summary of Position
Manages performance improvement projects in alignment with MedStar's goals and objectives. Ensures that the operations improvement, planning, and implementation of operational improvements/patient safety are developed, initiated, and supported. Actively researches best practice in the realm of quality clinical care and, with the support of Quality Council, initiates performance improvement projects identified through this research. Identifies and provides quality improvement educational activities and information to committees, departments and/or individuals.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree (clinical field preferred) required and
- Master's degree in Business or healthcare field preferred
Experience
- 5-7 years Experience in healthcare management or healthcare consulting. required
- Juran methodology for CQI quality control and quality planning; experience with TJC accreditation process and performance improvement or experience with TJC accreditation process and performance improvement.
Licenses and Certifications
- CPHQ - Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality CPHQ (Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality) certification preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proven leadership skills.
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple, complex projects simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills preferred.
- Knowledge of TJC patient safety standards and current literature about safety environmental controls.
This position has a hiring range of $80,995 - $152,027
