
Description
Educates, supports, and advocates for people affected by diabetes, addressing the stages of diabetes throughout the lifespan. Promotes self-management to achieve individualized behavioral and treatment goals that reduce risks and optimize health outcomes.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Dietetics, or nutrition related field required
- Prior work experience not required Diabetes self-management education and support experience preferred
- REG DIET - Dietitian - Registered Valid license in Maryland as a Dietitian (must be registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration) required or
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure Valid license in Maryland as a Registered Nurse required or
- Licensed Nurse Practitioner Valid license in Maryland as a Nurse Practitioner (by the American Nursing Association) required and
- CDE - Certified Diabetes Educator Certification Certified Diabetes Educator credential preferred/eligible required and
- CDE - Certified Diabetes Educator Certification If not already CDE will obtain certification within 1-1/2 Yrs required
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills including the use of Excel are preferred.
- Highly organized and strong attention to detail.
