General Summary of Position

MedStar Health is looking for a Nuclear Medicine Technologist I to join our team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital!

Schedule: Monday-Friday four 10-hour shifts; will start off training five 8-hour days. On call. 

As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist I, you will perform a full range of nuclear medicine procedures to include routine, emergency, and off-site portables. Primary Duties: 

  • Performs full range of nuclear medicine procedures in the department and designated ancillary areas to include venipuncture and the injection of radiopharmaceuticals, under the direction of the authorized user. 

  • Ensures that radiation safety precautions are taken when necessary. Provides basic information to patients, families and/or nursing staff concerning procedures to be performed.  

  • Assists the Nuclear Medicine Physicians in performing special procedures. Assists with the upkeep of nuclear medicine equipment, adheres to all related safety requirements, reports need for equipment repairs and keeps assigned room(s) in the department clean and stocked.  

  • Operates hospital information and computer programs including nuclear medicine systems. Transport patients to and from the Department, when necessary.  

  • Participates in orientation and other opportunities for learning as delegated for the department, other Hospital staff and students. Exemplifies Guest and Staff Relations in all activities. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Must be a graduate of an AMA approved school of Nuclear Medicine Technology. 

  • Skills in operating nuclear medicine stationery and mobile equipment, nuclear medicine computers and in instructing others in their proper use. 

  • 1-2 years Hospital based experience preferred. 

  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technology) or Health Services\NMTCB - Nuclear Medicine Tech or ASCP - American Society of Clinical Pathologist within 1 year. 


This position has a hiring range of $34.98 - $62.52
