Department: Gift Shop
Status: Full Time; 40 hours per week
Schedule: Mon - Fri: 9am - 7pm & Sat - Sun: 10am -5pm
Job Summary:
MedStar Good Samaritan and MedStar Union Memorial Hospital provide compassionate care to our community, and our gift shops play a vital role in supporting our patients, visitors, and staff. We offer a variety of gifts, snacks, and essentials to brighten the hospital experience. We are seeking a dependable and motivated Merchandise Stocker/Cashier to join our team and help maintain our gift shop's smooth operation.
Primary Duties:
· Stocking Shelves: Regularly replenish stock of merchandise to ensure shelves are full, neat, and organized.
· Inventory Management: Assist with receiving and organizing new shipments, checking for damages or discrepancies, and properly labeling items.
· Product Rotation: Ensure that products are rotated according to their expiration dates (if applicable) and removed from shelves when necessary.
· Customer Service Support: Provide friendly assistance to customers by answering questions about products and ensuring a pleasant shopping experience.
· Store Cleanliness: Maintain the overall cleanliness and organization of the gift shop and stockroom ensuring it is always inviting and well-maintained.
· Sales Assistance: On occasion, assist the sales team by processing customer transactions at the register or helping with gift wrapping.
· Special Requests: Assist in setting up displays and promotions as requested by the Gift Shop Manager.
Minimum Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or GED
· 6 months+ clerical/office experience
This position has a hiring range of $17.5 - $28.73
