General Summary of Position
Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, provides oversight, support and training for pharmacy automation; information systems; and other related technology. Supports the Informatics Pharmacist and the departmental pharmacy operations with preparation and dispensing functions. Performs the outlined job duties at 60% or more of the regularly scheduled workday.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required and
- Completion of an approved/accredited Pharmacy Technician training program required and
- Associate's degree Computer Science or other technology subject preferred or
- Bachelor's degree Computer Science or other technology subject preferred
- One year of relevant education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
Experience
- 3-4 years Hospital Pharmacy Technician experience required
- 1-2 years Experience with Automated Dispensing Systems, IV Software, Kit Check and RFID tagging preferred
Licenses and Certifications
- PHRMTECH-R - Registered Pharmacy Technician Registered Pharmacy Technician through the Board of Pharmacy Upon Hire required
- CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) Pharmacy Technician Certification through PTCB or NHA Upon Hire required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Verbal and written communication skills; knowledge of drug nomenclature and medical terminology; proficiency in basic mathematics, including fractions and decimals.
- Basic computer skills preferred.
- Experience in pharmacy automation, technology and software applications.
- HIPAA policies and Confidentiality.
This position has a hiring range of $22.04 - $38.41
