Description

Leads regional care delivery teams staffed with clinicians, social workers, and care coordinators to ensure the deliverance of exceptional health care to elderly patients across various care domains (such as Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRC), Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF), and other settings). Oversees and manages both administrative and clinical staff. Acts as a liaison with leadership and external stakeholders. Responsible for driving outcomes that support quality care, operational efficiency, and for managing relationship and growth across the MedStar Geriatrics & Senior Services CCRC & SNF portfolio.
Education

  • Bachelor's degree in business/health administration or related field required
  • Master's degree preferred
Experience
  • 5-7 years Experience in a leadership role or management in healthcare administration with progressive responsibilities and strong personnel management required
Licenses and Certifications
  • No special certification, registration or license required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • High level verbal and written communication, problem solving, and independent judgment skills required.
  • Ability to work independently, and part of a team.
  • Travel across multiple CCRC/SNF sites as needed.
  • Ability to focus on partner and customer services / patient experience, entrepreneurship and building and growing a strong business.
  • Must be accurate and meticulous with an ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Familiarity with front-end operations and financial management required.
  • Ability to effectively manage staff across multiple sites

  • Builds and maintains solid relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including third-party CCRC/SNF leadership and other providers and external teams.
  • Works closely with site Physician Leader (Medical Director) to meet key census targets, productivity, and outcome measures. Leads teams to achieve those measures.
  • Develops department goals, objectives, policies, and procedures. Ensures compliance with business unit policies and procedures and governmental and accreditation regulations.
  • Oversees revenue cycle workflows, assures appropriate billing infrastructure, compliance, and manages external contracts & invoicing processes.
  • Develops and recommends department operating budget and manages resources according to approved budget. Prepares and adheres to budgets (capital, expense, staffing, and revenue).
  • Performs personnel management functions either directly or through delegation to others. Includes but not limited to interviewing, hiring, onboarding, coaching, evaluation, and terminating staff.
  • Works closely with departmental leaders on developing and executing organic CCRC/SNF growth and expansion strategy.
  • Ensures smooth patient flow, timely care, and outstanding service to patients and families, including outreach, phone call, and scheduling. Meets targeted benchmarks for new patient growth.
  • Leads team quality improvement processes using collated reporting tools on patient stratification, utilization, patient/family satisfaction, patient quality measures, and costs.
  • Oversees day-to-day practice operations to improve health outcomes and value to patients, families, and payers. Meet financial goals by actively managing department budget, inventory, and expenses. Works in conjunction with senior leadership to create, execute, and manage contracts.
  • Participates in meetings and on committees and represents the department and business unit in community outreach efforts. Participates in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams and maintains effective working relationships with other departments.
