Find your calling at Mercy! This is a highly skilled position requiring advanced knowledge of distributed automation systems HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning), communication networking, computer software, and electrical distribution. The skills required for this position will allow the incumbent to resolve repair issues independently with little to no supervision. The position will support small, midsize, and large hospitals, critical access hospitals, small inpatient/outpatient facilities, and clinics. The Building Automation Systems Specialist provides the necessary skill to monitor, operate, maintain, and repair various controls systems. An understanding of programmable controllers, sensors, VFD's and other control-related devices is essential. Utilizes exceptional customer service and communication skills. This position ensures proper operation of distributed automation
systems controlled systems and provides internal technical support and training to Mercy co-workers. Position Details:
Minimum Required Qualifications
Education: High School, equivalent, or 1 year direct relevant experience
Licensure: Valid Driver's License for all Mercy locations
Experience: 4 or more years commercial experience working with BAS systems, HVAC, computer networking, electronic systems, or Electrical distribution.
Certification/Registration: N/A

• Requires oral and written communication skills to communicate with customers and follow instructions.
• Verbal ability required to read and understand technical manuals.
• Numerical ability required to make calculations for testing, installation, measurement, estimation, and repair of equipment.
• Ability to prioritize work assignments, conceptualize and formulate finished product.
• Form perception is required when measuring and installing parts and equipment.
• Spatial ability required to understand forms and relationships when working from blueprints or specifications.
• Requires knowledge and use of various computer software such as Outlook and or Nuvolo.
• Ability to manage time and materials efficiently. Completes work assignments in a high-quality manner and the lowest cost to Mercy.
• Requires exceptional customer service skills and ability to achieve department goals.
• Requires general manual dexterity, basic math knowledge, and mechanical aptitude.
• Exposure to extreme temperatures, electric shock, and loud noise.
• Ability to travel to various work sites.
Preferred Qualifications
Education: 2 or more years of training in a Technical or Vocational School
Licensure:
Experience: 5 or more years commercial experience working with BAS systems, HVAC, computer networking, electronic systems, or Electrical distribution within a healthcare or similar environment.
