Overview:

 

The Business Coordinator, Research is responsible for coordination of research studies conducted by Mercy Research. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: contracting and budgeting, coverage analysis, system builds, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing compliance, and study recruitment. Responsibilities also include interacting with physicians, nurses, office staff, consultants, patients, executive leaders, as well as the collection, compilation, documentation and analysis of research data while following local, state and federal regulations.

Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values and Mercy Service Standards.


Qualifications:

 

  • Education: Associates or bachelors degree in a health or science discipline or LPN OR three years healthcare or clinical research experience in lieu of a degree
  • Experience: 1 year healthcare or research experience
  • Other Skills and Knowledge:
    • Incumbent needs strong verbal and written communication skills and critical thinking skills.
    • Must have knowledge of medical terminology and a strong familiarity with electronic medical records.
    • Must be able to prioritize and complete multiple projects independently and efficiently with little supervision.
    • Computer proficiency including word processing, database, spreadsheet and Internet search applications required with excellent customer service and satisfaction skills.
    • History of meticulous attention to detail and organizational skills in all aspects of work.

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Education: Bachelors Degree in a health or science field
  • Experience: 1 year healthcare or research experience
  • Certification: CIP/CCRC/CCRP
  • Other Skills and Knowledge:Strong and clear in communication, proficient and/or quick learning in Microsoft Office and other technological software and/or electronic medical records, self-motivated, independent study, comfortable in fast-paced environment, capable of interacting with clinicians and executive leadership.
