Overview:

 

The Director of Clinical Quality Improvement provides system wide clinical leadership in overseeing the work and improvement efforts associated with quality, patient safety, public reporting, and performance improvement. Ensures the development, implementation, and evaluation of policies, programs, processes, and services consistent with the mission, philosophy, goals and objectives of the Sisters of Mercy Health System.


In collaboration with leaders and coworkers across the system, the Director of Clinical Quality Improvement provides strategic direction and management of quality, safety, and clinical outcomes initiatives including planning, design, development, implementation and evaluation of related projects and programs. Promotes cooperation and sharing between quality departments across all Mercy entities. Ensures appropriate, accurate and timely measurement and reporting of clinical quality and patient safety practices throughout the Ministry including defining, promoting, and supporting a mindset of continuous quality improvement. Creates system-wide support and alignment of improvement efforts within the Mercy Performance Divisions and respective service lines.

 

Reports to the ministry Executive Director of Quality and Safety. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 5+ years clinical healthcare related experience, 3+ years of leadership experience, including working with multidisciplinary stakeholders, performance improvement experience 
  • Required Education: Bachelor's degree
  • Preferred Certifications: CPHQ, CSSBB and/or Lean certification
  • Other: Ability to lead and work collaboratively with a variety of groups. Excellent communication skills and high emotional intelligence to effectively interact with all levels of caregivers from senior leaders to front-line coworkers. Ability to present complex information concisely and clearly for all levels of the organization. Proficient in data analysis and decision support, including demonstrated capabilities with analytical and presentation software. Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
