The AI Engineer joins a team of advanced professionals, including data scientists, engineers, and application developers. This role involves designing, developing, and operationalizing state-of-the-art AI solutions, including large language models (LLMs), to address complex challenges in clinical, operational, and business contexts. The AI Engineer will focus on building and integrating scalable AI/ML systems, collaborating on software development efforts, and driving innovation to advance Mercy's vision of personalized, predictive, and proactive care.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 2 years of experience in AI/ML development and software engineering
- Required Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- Other:
- Strong experience in designing, fine-tuning, and deploying LLMs, ML models, and agentic AI workflows.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.Experience with AI/ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).Solid SQL skills and experience working with structured/unstructured data, including EMR and financial datasets.Expertise in prompt engineering and generative AI applications.Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- Experience:Experience with MLOps frameworks for deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management.Hands-on experience with distributed computing (e.g., Apache Spark, Databricks).
- Proficiency in designing APIs and microservices.Familiarity with ethical AI and explainability techniques.Experience building AI-powered apps such as virtual assistants or analytics dashboards.
- Knowledge of testing frameworks for ML/AI solutions.Exposure to or experience developing agentic AI frameworks or orchestration tools (e.g., LangGraph, CrewAI).
