As a Medical Assistant in our colon and rectal surgery office, you'll play a key role in supporting our providers and creating an exceptional experience for every patient who walks through our doors. This position offers a meaningful blend of hands‑on clinical work and supportive administrative tasks, all within a compassionate, team‑focused environment. Position Details:

Medical Assistant - Colon & Rectal Surgery

Full Time | Monday to Friday

Minimum Qualifications

Education:  

•  High school diploma or equivalent. 

•  New hire must attend MA Clinic Academy training.

Preferred Qualifications

Education: Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program.

Experience: One year of experience in an outpatient or ambulatory care setting.

Responsibilities May Include:

• Rooming patients and obtaining vital signs

• Preparing supplies for minor procedures (e.g., hemorrhoid banding, flex sigs)

• Assisting providers during procedures

• Coordinating pre-operative and post-operative instructions

• Ensuring timely documentation and EMR updates

• Providing patient education and supporting follow-up care coordination

• Answer phones, respond to faxes, manage in-baskets

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:

•  Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 

•  Proficiency with EHR systems and clinical documentation. 

•  Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced clinical environment. 

•  Knowledge of common outpatient procedures and equipment. 

•  Commitment to patient-centered care and professional growth. 

•  Demonstrates knowledge of varying differences and behaviors among populations served. 

Work Environment:  

•  Outpatient clinical setting with frequent patient interaction. 

•  Requires standing, walking, lifting, and use of clinical equipment. 

•  Potential exposure to infectious materials; PPE provided.
