Overview:
Perform radiographic procedures at a technical level, not requiring constant supervision of technical details. Assume responsibility for procedures performed. Performs related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program with completed clinical hours
- High school diploma or equivalent required
Licensure
- State licensure may be required depending on location
Certification & Registration
- ARRT certification required or registry-eligible
- Must achieve ARRT certification within 6 months of hire
Experience
- Demonstrated experience in radiologic imaging, with proven capability to perform independently and efficiently
- Prior experience in orthopedic imaging or hospital-based settings preferred
Skills & Competencies
- Advanced technical skills in radiologic procedures and equipment operation
- Strong understanding of anatomy and positioning for optimal imaging results
- Ability to evaluate radiographs for diagnostic quality and accuracy
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Adaptability in high-pressure or emergency situations
Physical & Working Requirements
- Capable of manipulating x-ray equipment, including mobile units
- Able to lift, move, and transport patients safely
- Comfortable with prolonged standing and walking
- Must be able to recognize and respond to urgent clinical scenarios
Technology & Equipment Proficiency
- Skilled in operating radiographic equipment, processors, and computer systems
- Familiarity with PACS and EMR systems preferred
