Overview:
The Department of Nursing Excellence consists of and supports the clinical education team at Mercy South. Our department provides onboarding, residency programs, ongoing education, competency validation, professional development, and many other educational opportunities to all clinical caregivers in a variety of inpatient and specialty units. Our department is comprised of Diabetic Educators, Residency Educators, Critical Care Educators, Medical/Surgical Educators, Emergency Department Educators, Labor and delivery, Recovery, and Post Partum Educator, Operating Room Educators, and an Onboarding Educator. We strive to bring unique and interactive educational opportunities to our caregivers supporting their practice of work. We work closely with our leadership teams to provide clinical education needs to ensure our patients receive the best clinical care and outcomes. Our educators use a combination of didactic, hands-on and simulation learning styles to engage a variety of student learning needs. Our educators are experts in the clinical education they provide and incorporate Evidence Based Practice process changes.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience.
- Required Education: BSN/Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Required or enrolled within 6 months of hire.
- Certifications: AHA BLS provider.
