Mercy South Rehabilitation Hospital 

Full-time, 36 hours per week

Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital South offers premier inpatient rehabilitation services in a new freestanding 50-bed all private room rehab hospital on the campus of Mercy South. 

  • 50 bed hospital with all private rooms
  • 12 bed locked neuro unit
  • Average 9 day length of stay per patient with 80%+ returning home
  • Gym with state of the art technology including car to practice transfers
  • Board-certified rehabilitation specialists and is designed to assist patients who have recovered from the acute phase of an illness or injury, but still need 24-hour physician management and nursing care in addition to rehabilitation services such as, stroke and other neurological impairments, complex fracture, multi-injury accident, amputation, head injury, or spinal cord injury
  • Specialty trained rehabilitative nurses staff the Rehab Hospital. Together with patient care assistants, our nurses work under the direction of a physiatrist to manage medical issues such as IV therapy, supplemental nutrition, pain and respiratory management. They also focus on physical care, including general hygiene, skin and wound care, bowel and bladder management, and patient education to ensure understanding of limitations and safety precautions.
  • Team members self-schedule using electronic scheduling program


Overview:

 

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.


Qualifications:

  • Required Education: Nursing Degree from an accredited RN program.
  • Preferred Education: BSN
  • License: current RN license in the state of MO.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association.
