Job Description:

Under the leadership of the department director and their assigned supervisor, the Diet Clerk - Traypasser position is primarily responsible for coordinating patient menus, obtaining patient menu selections, and for the efficient and accurate delivery of patient trays for all three meals and for between-meal nourishments served by Nutrition Services. The Diet Clerk - Traypasser utilizes the computer system for obtaining patient menu selections and utilizes the software to correct, change and print patient tray tickets and nourishment cards. The Diet Clerk – Traypasser checks trayline, answers the telephone, and coordinates food for patient trays, room service and/or nourishments with the entire nutrition team:  dietitians, nutrition technicians, traypassing shift leader, cooks, assistant cooks, etc. Work must be prioritized to meet deadlines.

Experience:

Fluency, the ability to communicate orally and the ability to read and write in English is required. Passing a basic reading and math test is required. Intermediate computer skills are required. The ability to project a positive, warm, friendly and healing attitude to the patients of Community Hospital is required. Excellent customer service and telephone etiquette is required. Basic knowledge of diet therapy is required.

Assigned Work Hours:

Per diem, no set guaranteed hours in a two-week pay period. Varied days and shifts as needed. This is not a full or part time position

Pay Range (based on years of applicable experience):

$30.70

to

$41.03

The hours employees work determine when a shift differential is paid.

Hourly Evening Shift Differential: $2.02 Hourly Night Shift Differential: $3.03
