Position Overview:


We are looking for a dynamic supply chain professional to lead Global Materials planning activities within materials planning department. This role will be based onsite in Fremont, CA. The individual will be in charge of directing and guiding the implementation of strategies and tactical execution for efficient and cost-effective materials flow to deliver the maximum advantage to the business and customers. He/She will be responsible to manage a global team of 30+ individuals based located in 4 different time zones.

The successful candidate will bring in blend of strategic leadership and tactical expertise to help build world-class demand-driven supply chain. Additionally, we are looking for someone who has deep understanding of the dynamics of complex projects, who understands the solar space well, and who can strategize effectively to stay several steps ahead of likely problems. You will be part of a fast-paced, collaborative team propagating renewable solar solutions in the region and around the world.

Responsibilities:

  • Guide and direct sourcing teams in identifying, communicating, and implementing sourcing strategies and supply chain management best practice.
  • Plan and implement activities related to the timely and cost-effective procurement, inventory control, planning and quality control of production materials.
  • Work closely with sub-ordinates to ensure global strategies and policies are effectively developed, communicated, and implemented driving best practices.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, material control systems and metrics to reduce costs, streamline procedures and implement solutions.
  • Establish successful relationships with suppliers on a country, regional or global basis to ensure the availability of materials in the supply chain as scheduled and the maintenance of inventory at minimum acceptable levels.
  • Work with the Global Commodity management and strategic supply chain management teams on sourcing strategies including supplier selection, risk research and capacity management.
  • Coordinate with Finance on matters involving inventory carrying costs and review and plan requirements for acceptable inventory.
  • Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
  • Regularly interact with executives and major clients which may result in influencing and/or persuading customer negotiations.
  • Implement appropriate HR strategies and actions to recruit and retain a qualified and motivated workforce.
  • Own KPI's for the planning team
    • On time Delivery
    • On time Supply
    • Track LD's for supplier delays
    • Be Accountable for Project budgets.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business Administration, Master's preferred.
  • 15 + years experience in Planning, Master Scheduling, Supply chain, or Manufacturing.
  • Solar, Semiconductor or Steel manufacturing industry experience preferred.   
  • Strong Planning, Forecasting, Project Management skills with attention to detail.
  • Advanced user skills of planning software such as Anaplan, MS Excel, Access required.
  • Comfortable with figures and in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting large dataset.
  • Experience managing people.
  • Ability to work in fast pace and global start-up environment.

Salary Range (Applicable to California)

$170,000 - $210,000
