This position is responsible for a range of systems relating to secure application delivery, including the implementation and management of load-balancing systems, web application firewalls (WAF), and public key infrastructure (PKI). This person is comfortable with the fundamentals of application hosting systems and methods and will collaborate effectively with development and infrastructure teams.

 

   

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

·       Implements, configures, manages, and monitors WAF systems and security controls for web applications and related services.

·       Identifies, evaluates, and tests emerging vulnerabilities and other information security threats.

·       Consults and advises peer teams in areas including secure application delivery, load-balancing and fault-tolerance systems.

·       Analyzes applications to identify potential vulnerabilities and develops potential solutions.

·       Effectively communicates concerns and potential solutions with stakeholders.

·       Performs root cause analysis on reported security vulnerabilities, determines and performs appropriate mitigation.

·       Collaborates with peer groups and other teams across the organization both proactively and during incident response situations.

·       Participates in peer review process, offering and accepting feedback to proposed solutions.

·       Gathers and compiles security metrics.

·       Produces and maintains documentation with a high degree of readability and accuracy.

·       Documents all technology changes through appropriate change control systems.

·       Collaborates with peers to identify and implement system, policy, and procedural improvements.

·       Implements established PKI workflows and operates private certificate authorities in compliance with policy.

·       Assist with development of PKI best practices and policies.

·       Advises peer teams with PKI best practices, assisting with proper key management, and in resolving PKI issues.

·       Configures and manages load-balancing appliances and/or application delivery controllers.

·       Works with orchestration technologies to improve consistency and efficiency.

·       Integrates systems with enterprise standards and tools.

·       Ensures that work is completed in such a way as to comply with organizational policy.

·       Provides on-call support on a scheduled basis.

 



Qualifications

SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS:

·       7+ years of professional experience in web application hosting in a hybrid (cloud and on-prem) environment

·       7+ years of professional experience in network and/or application security

·       5+ years of professional experience running or maintaining Unix/Linux systems and services.

·       Solid working knowledge of upper levels of the network OSI model

·       Solid analytical abilities in common application protocols (HTTP/S, SMTP, etc.)

·       Experience with security assessment tools

·       Strong communication skills, particularly with discussing and explaining security-related issues.

·       Strong fundamental understanding of DNS and PKI

·       Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.

·       One or more of the following certificates/credentials preferred: GSP, GSE, GCIH, CCSP, CISM

 

 

Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States to be considered. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

 

This position is HYBRID in Redmond, WA. Hybrid positions require regular onsite work following the schedule and guidelines for their division. This position is not open to fully remote status at this time.
 

This position includes a base salary range of $114,000 - $205,000 annually, potential for a semi-annual discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.
