    DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
  • Deploys, configures, upgrades, patches, and supports virtual and physical servers and operating systems ensuring optimal performance, recoverability, compliance, and availability to align with industry best practices.
  • Designs, implements, and supports virtualization technologies to meet the needs of internal teams ensuring high availability, recoverability, performance, and capabilities. This also includes deploying or modifying virtual machines, deploying and managing containers, patching, tuning, scaling, and automating deployments/decommissions.
  • Designs, implements, and supports storage and backup technologies to meet internal customers' needs for storage, performance, and recoverability.
  • Defines the functional and technical needs of an organization and recommends solutions.
  • Assesses available technologies to meet needs, and then defines technical specifications and designs.
  • Develops and modifies technology systems, addressing functional, performance, security, quality, operations and monitoring needs.
  • Creates detailed test scenarios, performs testing and analyzes results.
  • Writes scripts and uses automation to perform routine tasks (i.e. Python, Ansible, PowerShell/Bash).
  • Designs simple and cost-effective systems to meet operational and security requirements.
  • Reviews systems operation and configuration to ensure it continues to meet design criteria.
  • Applies creativity and latitude to design and deliver systems.
  • Works with Orchestration technologies to automate tasks within area of expertise.(i.e. ServiceNow, Ansible, APIs)
  • Documents all technology changes through appropriate change control.
  • Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise that may also include employees from Nintendo Company, Ltd. (NCL) and subsidiaries.
  • Ensures work is completed in such a way to comply with established JSOX and other internal controls.
  • Mentors and assists Associate System Engineers.
  • Provides support and troubleshooting of prior developed technology solutions.
  • Provides on-call support as needed.


Qualifications

SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum of three (3) years of related experience in various system development technologies, patterns and practices (such as Ansible, Chef, Terraform, Docker, GitHub or similar development or Infrastructure as Code technologies)
  • Minimum of three (3) years of working knowledge and proficiency in one more more of the core areas (OS, virtualization, storage, backup & recovery) 
  • Requires understanding of core infrastructure concepts related to Operating Systems (Windows/Linux), virtualization, storage, backup & recovery, and the supporting networking. Understands what is required for the systems to work together optimally.
  • Familiarity with container technologies (such as Kubernetes, Docker).
  • Preferred: Proficiency with Nutanix (DFS, NUS, AHV), VMware ESXi, Dell/EMC Storage, Quantum Storage, and Rubrik products.
  • Preferred: Deep understanding of Unix/Linux with 3+ years of professional experience running, maintaining, and optimizing Unix/Linux systems and services.
  • Requires continuing to expand knowledge in core areas, broadening capabilities, and staying current on engineering approaches, technologies and techniques.
  • Proven experience with working complex issues to resolution, where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States to be considered. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role This position is hybrid in Redmond, WA. Hybrid positions require regular onsite work following the schedule and guidelines for their division. This position is not open to fully remote status at this time.
    This position includes a base salary range of $102,500 - $164,000 annually, potential for a semi-annual discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.
