Description

NJM's SIU is seeking a Special Investigator to join our team. The candidate will primarily be responsible for investigative duties surrounding claims and policies of all lines of business referred to the SIU to determine if there is a reasonable suspicion of fraud.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Formulate, document, and pursue investigative plans.
  • Analyze data and documents from a variety of sources. 
  • Investigate allegations of fraud by using an array of investigative techniques including but not limited to interviewing parties of interest, inspections, surveillance, and thorough searches of both internal and external databases.
  • Coordinate with outside vendor experts to assist with investigative process. 
  • Correspond and collaborate with various NJM staff including legal counsel.
  • Prepare concise reports summarizing the results of the investigation.
  • Communicate with State agencies responsible for investigation of potential fraud.
  • Establish and maintain external relationships with industry, law enforcement and other contacts involved in fraud investigation, detection, and prevention.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • SIU investigative/analytical experience strongly preferred.
  • Subject matter expertise in insurance investigations is preferred. 
  • Experience in working with the SIU and general understanding of SIU's workflow and responsibilities is preferred.
  • Excellent collaboration, communication (written and verbal), organizational, analytical and prioritization skills.
  • Detail oriented with a strong aptitude for analysis.
  • A strong desire to develop and pursue investigate leads.
  • Aspire to continually learn, incorporate, and share new skills 
  • A high degree of integrity and confidentiality is required.
  • Willingness to adapt to new business processes improvements 
  • Performance of relevant field work necessary to complete an investigation.
