Primary Purpose:
Manages pricing decisions, price publication and related pricing issues for an assigned group of Intermodal customers in a timely and effective manner.
Principal Duties:
- Performs pricing actions that balance the strategic direction and pricing policies of the business segment with the need to set market competitive pricing in the highly price competitive truckload marketplace.
- Initiates and participates in special studies that review price strategy and tactics, revenue yield, asset utilization, traffic flows, train and terminal capacity and price publications
- Communicates with NS personnel including Sales, Equipment Control, Intermodal Service Design, Revenue Accounting, Intermodal Systems and the Cost Department to assess the immediate and long term impact of pricing decisions.
- Researches, develops, formulates and presents data, into meaningful and concise recommendations to middle and upper management levels.
