Primary Purpose:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive SAP Ariba and Fieldglass Specialist to support the business-side operations of our procurement platform. The ideal candidate will act as a power user and liaison between procurement teams, suppliers, and IT support—driving the effective use of SAP Ariba and Fieldglass for sourcing, contract management, supplier collaboration, and procurement execution. This role is focused on maximizing business value, streamlining workflows, and ensuring high user adoption across the enterprise. The job position will be located at Norfolk Southern's headquarters office in Atlanta.
Principal Duties:
- Serve as the business process owner and subject matter expert (SME) for SAP Ariba modules, including Sourcing, Contracts, Supplier Lifecycle & Performance (SLP), and Procurement, as well as Fieldglass Contingent Workforce and Services Procurement.
- Provide day-to-day support to users, including buyers, category managers, and suppliers, to ensure effective use of Ariba and Fieldglass tools and address issues.
- Partner with IT and vendors to support system enhancements, testing, and platform updates.
- Develop and deliver training materials and user guides to support onboarding and ongoing education for business users and suppliers.
- Monitor procurement workflows to ensure timely approvals, compliance with policy, and proper data capture.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to continuously improve procurement processes through better use of Ariba and Fieldglass capabilities.
- Support sourcing events (e.g., RFPs, auctions) by helping business users set up, monitor, and close out events.
- Maintain templates, user roles, supplier records, and master data integrity within the Ariba and Fieldglass platforms.
- Track and report key metrics around system usage, supplier performance, and procurement cycle times.
Job Related Experience:
- 1-3 years of experience working with SAP Ariba and Fieldglass from a business or functional side (not just technical/IT).
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related field.
Licenses / Certifications:
- Required: None
- Preferred: SAP Ariba or Fieldglass Certification or formal training in relevant modules
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of procurement and sourcing processes, contract lifecycle, and supplier management.
- Experience supporting Ariba modules such as Sourcing, Contracts, Buying & Invoicing, or SLP and Fieldglass Contingent Workforce and SOW modules.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to support both internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other tools used for analysis and reporting.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with onboarding and supplier enablement in both platforms.
- SAP ERP integration (S/4HANA or ECC) experience is highly preferred.
- Industry experience in transportation, logistics, or regulated sectors a plus
