Job DescriptionNorfolk Southern Corporation is seeking a Data Governance Analyst to help lay the tracks for a smarter, more connected future. As part of a newly formed team, you'll play a key role in building the data foundation that powers one of America's leading freight railroads.

You'll work alongside business and technology teams to support the implementation of enterprise-wide data governance initiatives, ensuring our data is accurate, trusted, and ready to fuel innovation. Responsibilities•    Support the rollout and adoption of data governance tools, frameworks, and processes across the enterprise.
•    Document governance workflows, data standards, metadata definitions, and related artifacts.
•    Monitor and report on data quality, identifying issues and supporting remediation through action plans.
•    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align governance practices with business and technology objectives.
•    Assist in the development and delivery of training programs to promote data stewardship and governance awareness.
•    Contribute to the creation of a unified data fabric that connects systems, teams, and insights across Norfolk Southern.
•    Help advance data governance principles, policies, and programs that support stewardship, advocacy, and custodianship.
•    Track and manage opportunities for continuous improvement in governance standards, guidelines, and processes.
•    Define and report on performance metrics related to data governance, data quality, and metadata management.
•    Foundational understanding of data governance, data quality, metadata management, or master data management concepts.
•    Ability to analyze data issues and contribute to the development of solutions that align with governance objectives.
•    Familiarity with data governance platforms.
•    Proficient in SQL, data profiling, data cleansing, and data management. 
• Bachelors in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Data Engineering or related field.
Skills Preferred: 
•    Experience with Collibra as a data governance platform preferred
