Homestead Advisers is looking to fulfill one of their Senior Client Relationship Advisor roles. Homestead isn't your typical investment manager. Founded in 1990 by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA), our start-up story is unique. Our roots run deep in providing high-quality, affordable investment products to over 400 electric cooperatives and their members through investments in Homestead Funds. Born from managing pension and defined benefit plans sponsored by NRECA, this history has shaped our approach to investing and distinguishes us from other firms.
Summary of Position
The Senior Client Relationship Advisor is responsible for retaining existing Homestead Funds shareholders and working to attract new shareholders through virtual and in-person presentations. Conducts over-the-phone and in-person personalized portfolio reviews and recommends customized asset allocation strategies based on each shareholder's financial needs. Plays an important role in supporting the reputation of Homestead Funds client service in the cooperative community.
Key Responsibilities
- Executes comprehensive relationship management strategy for retaining Homestead Funds' clients.
- Provides financial advisory and asset allocation services to Homestead Funds current and potential shareholders. Conducts over-the-phone and in-person portfolio reviews and recommends specific, customized asset allocation strategies using the Homestead family of funds based on each client's risk tolerance, investments goals and time horizon.
- Promotes Homestead Funds and delivers presentations at various NRECA-sponsored events and cooperative-sponsored programs. Present Homestead Funds information on financial wellness, our funds, account types, and services at events where appropriate.
- Primarily communicates with shareholders and potential shareholders by making outbound calls and answering inbound calls.
- Utilizes Client Relationship Management (CRM) system to track, contact and follow up points, measure retention success, and ensure high level of client service and high retention rates.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's in business related field required. Additional educational credentials including CFP preferred.
- Six to eight years of mutual fund/investment industry and 401[k] pension plans, defined benefits plans, financial planning and investments community experience is required. At least four years direct experience in a senior client facing role. Marketing or business development experience preferred but not required.
- FINRA Series 6 (Investment Company Registered Representative), FINRA Series 63 (Uniform Securities Agent), FINRA Series 65 (Investment Advisor) required (Series 6 and 63 must be obtained within 2 months and Series 65 within 4 months of hire)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with strong presentation skills, both in-person and virtual with the ability to present complex information in a relatable manner.
- Client-focused with a strong drive to achieve results and to build relationships with a high degree of professionalism and integrity. Ability to listen and interpret the customer's needs, de-escalate difficult customer calls, while at the same time researching the issue and applying broad business and technical knowledge to meet the customer's satisfaction.
- Ability to flex between working independently and collaborating on a team by being resourceful, responsive, and respectful.
Essential Physical Requirements:
- The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal and extensive reading.
- Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
