Reports to the Maintenance Manager and is an hourly, non-exempt position.   Responsible for the cleanliness, maintenance and general upkeep of center buildings and grounds.  

Duties and Responsibilities:

  •  Demonstrates and abides by ODLE Core Values and operating principles.
  • Performs general janitorial duties in an office, such as cleaning, dusting, washing windows, and moving and polishing furniture and equipment.
  • Sweeps, mops, and polishes floors.  Vacuums and spot clean carpets.
  • Empties trash receptacles and dusts furniture.
  • Performs minor maintenance repairs.  Arranges for repair of office equipment and utilities.
  • Ensures that all tools and equipment are in good repair.
  • Attends required staff training sessions.
  • Cultivates and maintains a climate on center that is free of harassment, intimidation, and disrespect to provide a safe place for staff and students to work and learn.
  • Clearly communicates and consistently models, appropriate employability skills including personal responsibility and 
  • computer fluency.
  • Maintains accountability of staff, students, and property, adheres to safety practices in all areas of responsibility.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:          

  • High School graduate or equivalent preferred. 

Additional Requirements: Knowledge of special laundry care for all types of materials.  Ability to obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid certification. Ability to communicate effectively and relate to the trainee population.  Ability to operate power tools. Position requires an ability to operate various mechanical equipment. In addition, an individual must be able to interact with team members and maintain an effective working relationship with all facility staff and departments.
