Job Skills / Requirements

We are seeking experienced Security Officers to join our teams at a healthcare facility in Pemberton.

Pay Rate: $24.00/hr
Schedule: 12-hour shifts, overnight / graveyards

Successful candidates are required to travel to Vancouver for 1-week of mandatory training; travel and accommodation will be covered.

Please note that we are only considering current residents of Pemberton or Whistler for this position. Relocation is not offered at this time.


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular foot patrols
  • Monitor CCTV cameras 
  • Provide first aid
  • Manage lost and found
  • Write detailed incident reports
  • Respond to alarms
  • De-escalate potentially violent situations
  • Interact with clients and the general public 

Requirements:

  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Strong English communication skills (written and verbal); confidence interacting verbally with team members, client personnel, members of the public, and emergency services
  • A valid BC Security License
  • A passion for being active, since your patrols may be indoors or outdoors, in all weather conditions, and can include stairwells, and uneven surfaces
  • Physical ability to stand and/or patrol for the majority of a shift
  • Confidence approaching and leading in emergency situations, including trauma, aggression, intoxication, bodily fluids, etc.
  • A keen eye for watching and reporting irregularities, such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergency situations
  • Basic skills in utilizing technology, including writing reports on a computer, tracking patrols in a smartphone, and communicating via two-way radios
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
