Paladin Security is hosting a In-Person Hiring Event on Jan 30, 2026, February 6th 2026, & February 13th, 2026 for our upcoming Home Coming coverage at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo.

Hiring Event Details:

  • Date: Friday, January 30, 2026
  • Time: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
  • Location: 842 Victoria St N #15A, Kitchener, ON N2B 3C1
  • Walk-In Interviews – No Appointment Needed!

What to Bring:

  • Resume
  • Valid Ontario Security license
  • First Aid certificate (WSIB Approved)

Position Details:

  • Position: Event Security Guard
  • Location: Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo Campus
  • Shift Date: Saturday, March 14, 2026 (Mandatory Availability)
  • Status: Temporary Event Guard
  • Hours: 8 to 12-hour shifts
  • Pay Rate: $20.45/hr.

This temporary role requires mandatory availability on March 14, 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Report to base operations at Wilfrid Laurier University for sign-in, briefing, and equipment pickup.
  • Enforce wristband protocols at designated access control points.
  • Maintain high visibility and professionalism at posts near university buildings and residences.
  • Monitor crowds, control access points, and report incidents or suspicious activities to site management and SCS Communications.
  • Respond to supervisor direction regarding possible relocation of posts during the event.
  • Use radios to maintain active communication – radios must remain on and with you at all times unless transferred to relief guard during break.
  • Remain standing or walking for extended periods; many posts are outdoors and will require working in varying weather conditions.
  • Follow all on-site protocols

Qualifications:

  • Valid Security Guard License (Ontario)
  • Valid First AID & CPR C (WSIB Approved)
  • Ability to stand and walk for long durations
  • Comfortable working outdoors for entire shift
  • Strong communication and conflict de-escalation skills
  • Ability to follow protocol and maintain a professional demeanor
  • Previous event or crowd control experience considered an asset
  • Authorized to legally work in Canada
