Overview Job Skills / Requirements

Your main responsibilities at this site in the Downtown Eastside (Vancouver) will be evicting loiterers that are blocking entrances and stairwells, providing safe walks to high profile clients in the parking lot, monitoring site safety, and reporting any incidents. You will need great communication, professionalism, and a strong presence to deter security issues.

Pay Rate: $22.06/hour

Shifts: Monday-Friday, 0530-0930hrs (20 hours per week). Please note that these shift times are not transit accessible, so a reliable vehicle is required. Candidates who are living in the Vancouver area are preferred.

Requirements: 

• Minimum one year of work experience in the security industry
• Reliable personal vehicle to commute to the site as transit is not available at the shift's start time
• Strong communication, customer service, professionalism, and observation skills
• Confidence approaching and leading in emergency situations, including trauma, aggression, bodily fluids, etc.
• A keen eye for watching and reporting irregularities, such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergency situations
• Physical ability to stand and/or patrol for the majority of a shift, including indoors, outdoors, in all weather conditions, up and down stairwells, and over uneven surfaces, and parking lots

Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular foot patrols
• Evict any loiterers that are blocking entrances or stairwells
• Attend incidents, de-escalate situations, write detailed reports, and communicate any issues to Supervisor, Manager, and client as required 
• Interact with clients and the general public, providing excellent customer service
• Other duties as required to meet operational needs
