Job Skills / Requirements In this role, you will be working in a busy public park in the summer months, and will be responsible for safety enforcement and traffic control. This is a temporary contract from May 15, 2025 to Sept 1, 2025.
Shifts: 0930hrs to 1630hrs on weekends and stat holidays
Wage: $25.00/hour +
We are looking for teammates, who are:
- Confident, assertive, and professional when interacting with the public
- Able to assist and resolve parking-related issues at the site
- Comfortable working outdoors for the full shift and conducting foot patrols
- Comfortable driving a Paladin vehicle as needed
- Conduct foot patrols for the entire shift outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ensure unauthorized individuals leave the premises when requested
- Perform traffic control and first aid duties as needed
- Respond promptly to accidents and emergencies at the site
- Report and escalate issues to the Security Command Centre as needed, using a two-way radio for communication
- Work alongside police, fire, and ambulance services when required
- Write detailed incident reports on security concerns or property damage
- Maintain positive interactions with the public and client staff
- Handle confidential information with discretion
- Manage incidents with a calm and professional demeanor
- Minimum of 2 years of work experience in the security industry
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License with a clean driving record
- A valid AST (Advanced Security Training) and IFA (OFA-2) certification
- Own vehicle for commuting to and from the site
- Availability to work 7-hour shifts on weekends and statutory holidays
- TCP (Traffic Control Person) certification is an asset
- Prior training in self-defense and use of handcuffs is an asset
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
