SALARY DISCLOSURE: 70,000-80,000 with a discretionary bonus

We are looking for a driven individual to join our fast-growing PalAmerican finance team and be a key member of our Financial Reporting department. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing multiple tasks in a busy work environment, proficiency working with ERP software and a willingness to learn. We are looking for someone with a positive can-do attitude who takes pride in their work and is looking to grow their career with one of Canada's best managed companies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Responsible for monthly closing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and supporting working papers.
· Perform review and analysis of monthly financial results, identifying any discrepancies and/or opportunities for margin improvement.
· Assist with acquisition integration activities as well as acquisition accounting entries.
· Identify the need for, implement, and document new processes to improve financial controls and optimize workflows.
· Effectively partner with other departments to investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve requests.
· Assist and lead ad-hoc projects, as requested, such as audit and insurance renewal.
· Mentor new staff, as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
· CPA professional accounting designation or on the path to becoming CPA designated.
· 3+ years progressive accounting experience
· Strong quantitative skills - proficient in excel and strong foundation in financial concepts
· Ability to quickly understand business processes and contribute at a high level with superior attention to detail
· Excellent communication skills and ability to partner effectively with all levels of the business
· Experience working with our ERP Software, Winteam and PowerBI considered an asset
