Status: Full-Time Days

Hours: Monday to Friday :0800-1600

Pay Rate: $30/Hr.

Category: Overtime after 44 hours (ESA)

We are seeking a seasoned Security Site Director to lead the day-to-day operations of the security department at 15 & 16 York Street, including the retail spaces at 12 & 14 York Street. This role is responsible for managing personnel, ensuring compliance with life safety regulations, implementing operational improvements, and delivering high standards of tenant service and emergency readiness. This leadership role requires excellent organizational, communication, and crisis management skills, along with a deep understanding of commercial real estate security.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise all site security personnel, including Control Centre Operators, Mobile Supervisors, Lead Hands, and guards.
  • Conduct monthly team meetings with Lead Hands and ongoing coaching and mentoring.
  • Motivate, evaluate, and support team performance; interview, hire, and discipline staff as needed.
  • Promote equal, ethical, and respectful treatment across the team.
  • Oversee all security operations and ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery.
  • Maintain Fire Safety and Building Code compliance, performing all required inspections on schedule.
  • Manage incident reports, investigate complaints, and communicate resolutions to tenants and management.
  • Ensure professional appearance, conduct, and reporting standards are met by all personnel.
  • Act as Incident Commander during emergencies.
  • Maintain and implement Fire Safety, Emergency Response, and Business Continuity Plans.
  • Lead monthly emergency drills and one annual fire evacuation.
  • Keep emergency contact lists up to date and ensure all staff are trained in emergency procedures.
  • Serve as the liaison between tenants and property management for security-related concerns.
  • Provide guidance on loss prevention, emergency preparedness, and incident response.
  • Host presentations and meetings with stakeholders to maintain transparent communication and support.
  • Collaborate with the Manager to adopt and implement security technologies such as CF Connect and Maximo.
  • Continuously update security procedures and SOPs to reflect industry best practices.
  • Identify and execute action items to close compliance gaps and eliminate recurring issues.

Qualification:

  • High school diploma required; college diploma or business management certification in security/life safety, risk management, or criminology preferred.
  • Completion of a recognized Supervisory Management Program (or willingness to complete upon hire).
  • Minimum of 3 years in commercial real estate security, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Experience managing complex or mixed-use facilities is a strong asset.

Prerequisites:

  • Legally Eligible to work in Canada Full-Time
  • Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
  • Valid Standard First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
  • Covid Vaccine two doses
  • Valid G class Driver License
  • English (oral and written) fluency is a must
  • Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
  • Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
  • Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
