Description

This individual will serve to reduce overall IT costs and mitigate business and financial risk related to Paycom's ownership and use of IT Assets. They will strive to improve IT procurement processes, license optimization, and agility of IT operations. They will work closely with Paycom's Accounting team on budgeting and other strategic decision-making processes.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Regularly advise team members and leadership on improvements and adjustments to the IT procurement processes and draft those changes for review by department leadership
  • Regularly train and advise less senior team members in regards to ITAM job duties such as procurement, financial reporting, legal, and inventory management
  • Design and implement CMDB architecture including systems such as Flexera and related integrations
  • Execute large, complex purchase orders and navigate legal and accounting processes to facilitate timely project completions and hardware/software acquisitions
  • Regularly receive escalations and address urgent needs in the procurement pipeline
  • Regularly receive escalations and address urgent software and hardware purchases
  • Ensure compliance in regards to contractual or legal terms and condition negotiations
  • Regularly create executive reports with little or no oversight
  • Regularly engage with internal and external auditors for escalations and critical policy activities
  • Regularly provide guidance and direction to junior ITAM Analysts

Documentation and reporting responsibilities:

  • Advise on training documentation to be utilized by junior level analysts for knowledge base
  • Create detailed financial executive reports to be consumed directly by senior leadership with no prior review or oversight
  • Create software and hardware executive reports to be consumed directly by senior leadership with no prior review or oversight


Qualifications

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Computer Science or related discipline

Experience:

  • 7+ years total combined IT experience
  • 6+ years of relevant IT experience
  • 1+ years of systems administration experience
  • 4+ years of ITAM or IT procurement experience
  • Strong experience leading meetings and committees with executive management and stakeholders
  • Strong experience leading large projects
  • Strong experience using an ITAM platform(s) such as Flexera FNMS / Flexera One
  • Strong experience interacting with an attorney to modify software license agreements/EULAs/vendor contracts
  • Strong experience interacting with accountants to plan and reconcile budget(s)
  • Strong experience working with minimal supervision as the single POC with external vendors

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Certification:

  • Certification(s) in IT Procurement or Supply Chain and Inventory Management
  • Certification(s) in Lean Six Sigma

Experience:

  • Accounting or legal experience
  • Systems administration experience

Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of legal terminology in regards to contract negotiations
  • Strong understanding of financial\accounting terminology, forecasting, reporting, etc.
  • Experience leading software and hardware contract negotiations, enterprise agreements, etc.
  • Experience leading meetings and committees with executive management and stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of IT systems administrations and server administration concepts equivalent to a mid-level systems administrator skillset (TCP/IP protocols, SNMP, web/server relationships, database concepts, firewall, storage speeds, server performance basics, etc.)
  • Demonstrates strong math, analytical, and interpersonal skills required to successfully work in a team environment and communicate effectively across a variety of stakeholder groups.
  • Ability to develop, publish, and communicate processes and procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized and able to keep track of many tasks
  • Can evaluate critical systems, prioritize workflow and determine solutions
  • Can easily adapt and learn new software systems and technology
  • Must demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and mentoring
  • Can Interpret and apply laws, regulations, policies and procedures
  • Must possess proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio)
  • Can work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings
  • IAITAM – CSAM certification
  • IAITAM – CHAMP certification
  • IAITAM – CITAM certification
  • PMI – CAPM certification
