Description

The IT Physical Security System Administrator functions include the installation, configuration, testing, and troubleshooting of camera and access control systems. Day-to-day operations include working effectively and efficiently with other teams in order to achieve results by deadlines. Must be able to provide courteous customer service to users when troubleshooting camera and access control issues. Position requires the ability to work on ladders and use power tools while adhering to all safety protocols. Troubleshooting may include travel to different sales offices within the country.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform installation, programming, configuration, testing, trouble-shooting, maintenance and inspections of commercial electronic security (access control) and surveillance devices/equipment (CCTV).
  • Install, integrate, program and configure security cameras, access control panels, access control door hardware, video management and access control servers, and termination and installation of cable/wires.
  • Troubleshoot/diagnose service and equipment issues on site and remotely.
  • Demonstrate resourcefulness in assessing and troubleshooting of issues and problems.
  • Be resourceful in making decisions, problem solving, organization and planning.
  • Exhibit necessary job knowledge and technical skills.
  • Complete assignments by deadlines with accuracy and neatness.
  • Should be able to work well both independently and in a team environment.


Qualifications

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field

Experience:

  • Experience in network and/or access control and/or CCTV experience

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Certification:

  • Industry Certification (CCTV, ACS, Alarm etc.)

Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Intrusion, Access Control and Video Surveillance
  • Knowledge of networking and IP addressing
  • Experience installing and servicing electronic security (access control) and surveillance devices/equipment (CCTV).
  • Experience troubleshooting equipment, repair and preventative maintenance for electronic security (access control) and surveillance devices/equipment (CCTV).
  • Knowledge of IPS/IDS, packet/traffic analysis and related tools
  • Knowledge and experience with TCP/IP, Microsoft operating systems, and networks
  • Experience with the following programming or computer languages is recommended but not required: T-SQL (MySQL/MSSQL), PHP, Python, Perl, JavaScript, C#, HTML
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 2013/2016 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Work for extended time at keyboard/terminal
  • Maintain effective working relationships with supervisor and coworkers
  • Availability to respond to emergency situations
