Penske Logistics is seeking a proven leader with relevant experience and skills to join our team of transportation and logistics professionals. The Director of Customer Operations is expected to support and deliver synchronized solutions for a large, enterprise-wide account located across the country. The Director of Customer Operations will drive purposeful innovation and continuous improvements within the customer network, ultimately delivering the expected results for the customer.
The Director of Customer Operations will have direct reports and report directly to the Vice President of Operations.
MAJOR RESPONSBILITIES:
• Proactively work with customer to target opportunity to improve operational effectiveness.
• Serve as an escalation resource for customer issues.
• Collaborate with and direct sales leadership to target, evaluate and explore growth opportunities.
• Maintain consistent, high level operating metrics and service levels across multiple locations.
• Lead the execution and compliance of safety processes and programs.
• Communicate and take action in essential customer information including but not limited to operational metrics, organizational changes, operational procedures to all locations across a customer portfolio.
• Navigate successfully through dotted lined, matrixed organization with respect to pulling in resources to help remedy customer issues.
• Lead talent management and succession planning efforts across team.
• Develop and execute market growth strategy in key verticals and geographies across the customer portfolios.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's Degree required
• 10+ years of Transportation and/or Supply Chain experience
• 5+ years of Management experience
• Understand pricing, contracts, process improvement methodologies
• Good organization skills
• Financial acumen
• Strong communication skills
• Multi location P&L experience
• Ability to understand, interpret, and present analytics and metrics.
• Ability to influence and understand customer needs, gather information, and make a recommendation
• Executive presence and presentation skills
• Full understanding of field operations
• Collaboration skills required, must act as a liaison to multiple internal groups
• Project Management
• Demonstrates exceptional leadership skills
• Embraces and models brand pillars
• Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
