Job Summary
Plans, develops and organizes the activities of the clinical staff, ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of quality health care.Accountabilities
Assists physicians with examinations, procedures and other activities related to direct patient care. Fields and directs clinical telephone calls. - 15%
Participates in the assessment of clinical staffing needs by maintaining a master work schedule, adjusting staffing levels and forecasting staffing needs. - 15%
Develops and conducts orientation and in service training for clinical staff. - 10%
Develops, implements and maintains emergency preparedness plan. - 10%
Serves as chief liaison between the clinical staff and physicians. - 5%
Assists with development and maintenance of quality improvement by reviewing incident reports, patient complaints and suggestions, current practices and actions taken. Develops and conducts programs for enhancing patient satisfaction. - 15%
Monitors local, state and federal regulations affecting operations and assists with the development, implementation and monitoring of appropriate policies and procedures. - 10%
Contacts vendors for repair or routine service of medical equipment. Forwards proposals/quotes to Office Supervisor for approval. - 5%
Maintains adequate levels of medical supplies and pharmaceuticals. - 5%
Responsible for adherence to DEA, DHEC and other regulatory agency policies and procedures for ordering, dispensing, storing and disposing of pharmaceuticals. - 5%
Oversees physician's office schedule. - 5%
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or GED preferred.
3 years of experience in clinical field of certification.
Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses
Certification or licensure in one or more of the following:
-South Carolina LPN license
-OR- Radio-logic Technologist (ARRT)
-OR- Limited Practice Radiologic Technologist
-OR- General, Medical Laboratory Technician
-OR- Certified Surgical Technician
-OR- Registered Respiratory Technician
-OR- Medical Assistant certification including: CMA (AAMA); RMA (AMT); CCMA(NHA); NCMA (NCCT); RMA (ARMA); NRCMA (NAHP); or RMA (AAMP)
(Certification must be maintained throughout employment in role. Human Resources may waive certification for incumbents who are unable to maintain certification due to their assignment within a physician practice setting.)
