Calling all night owls! ProHealth Care is extending fully paid scholarships to become a Polysomnography Technologist. Sleep Techs are at the heart of health care, helping others to improve their sleep and overall wellnes. 

 

Polysomnography Technologists work 3rd shift. If you are accustomed to working nights we want to hear from you!

 

Hired applicant/ Scholarship recipient must commit to attending a two-week all-expense paid training course to become a Polysomnography Technologist.  The two week 80 hour A-Step program is conducted in Alton, Il. Our goal is to train and retain the talent at PHC.  Recipients of this generous gift will be asked to complete an agreement to secure and maintain employment as a full time Polysomnography Technologist, 0.9FTE (3 – 12-hour night shifts)  for 2 years following completion of the education program.

 

After successful completion of the course, employee will take final exam and purchase the required online self-study modules (mileage, meals, hotel, cost of exam and cost of modules will be reimbursed to employee by submitting an expense request.  Cost of introductory course will be paid directly to the A-Step course by ProHealth Care).

 

80 hours of Online Self Study Modules must be completed within one year of purchase (must be purchased immediately after passing course exam).

Registry exam through the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists) must be completed within 2 years of completion of the A-Step program after the minimum number of clinical hours are obtained to sit for the examination.

Job Summary A Polysomnography Technologist works under the general supervision of the clinical director (M.D., D.O., or PhD) or designee to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders.  This may involve polysomnography, diagnostic, and therapeutic services or patient care and education.
