Job Summary:
The position is responsible for the tactical daily asset planning that covers all available revenue opportunities, meets or exceeds customer expectation and fully utilizes every assigned asset within the assigned region, on a daily basis. Regional Equipment Planners work closely with internal and external customers within the network, assigning correct equipment to reloadable system freight.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the proactive planning, oversight, and assignment of the shared trailer pool equipment on all regional outbound and intra-region system freight by fully utilizing the shared pool within the assigned market
- Proactively monitor all inbound shared pool equipment into the assigned region and advance plan the asset's next move post-tank wash, based on equipment demand within the region
- Engages in daily review of equipment balance, both current and inbound, within the assigned region to align ongoing operational regional demand with the appropriate equipment balance levels
- Collaborates with the shared trailer pool Fleet Manager on all assets within the region requiring maintenance, tank wash needs or hand labor to ensure smooth workflow and reduced down time of assets at vendors, company maintenance shops, or tank washed
- Manages the end-to-end tank wash process on all inbound equipment into the assigned region through timely tank wash assignments, confirmation of prior product compatibility with the tank wash, scheduling, PO coordination, and ongoing communication with tank wash on ETA to ensure timely completion for upcoming planning and assignment
- Ensure equipment is ready for use at the appointed time, utilizing all equipment and resources to do so
- Work with maintenance facilities and vendors on a daily basis to ensure all subsets of assigned pool trailers are in in full compliance with all federal, state and local regulations as well as all QC preventative maintenance standards
- Manage all asset assignments in collaboration with Central Scheduling and terminal personnel, ensuring that complete work assignments can be sent to all drivers
- Performs projects and other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- 4-5 year's' experience Dispatcher or Transportation operations experience
- Basic knowledge of company's various business operations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Organized, detail oriented, and ability to take initiative
- Ability to prioritize and multiple tasks
- Ability to work effectively in a team as well as independently, as required
- Knowledge of Google apps and GMail
- Strong analytical and planning skills
- TMW software experience desired
Education and Experience:
- 2 Year Degree preferred
- HS Diploma Required.
This is a full-time position, and days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional after-hours as well as rotating weekend on-call.
Travel: 10%
