Description

Reporting to the Associate Director of Nursing, the Wound Care RN requires a full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Redlands Community Hospital. Through demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge, skill, and competence the Wound Care Nurse facilitates learning, educational experiences, and education activities for nursing personnel through direct and indirect methods. The Wound Care Nurse plans, develops, implements, and evaluates in-services and continuing education and staff development programs in collaboration with Directors, Managers, staff, physicians, Hospital departments, and others as needed. Acts as an education advisor to the nursing staff and Managers to identify learning needs and designs, implements, and evaluates standards of practice. The Wound Care Nurse performs professional role functions in accordance with scope of practice and professional standards including but not limited to wound assessment, dressing changes of various types, diagnostic procedures, and other duties as required. He/she functions as a change agent to improve patient care and supports interdisciplinary collaboration. The Wound Care Nurse models professional roles and behaviors that assist nursing personnel in acquiring competency, knowledge, and clinical skills, demonstrating accountability and responsibility in clinical practice while adhering to the Patients First philosophy of safety, compassion, and efficiency. He/she will demonstrate the knowledge and ability to use and/or lead the scope of practice, professional standards, and accreditation/regulatory standards, scope of practice for LVNs and all other nursing personnel (i.e. unlicensed assistive personnel). The Wound Care Nurse demonstrates the ability to assess their own professional role performance, current knowledge of theory, and principles related to discipline specific practice, and the ability to use a population based approach to determine patient needs. He/she is able to coordinate care not only for individual patients, but also to lead the care delivery of multiple patients in need of wound care.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Current CA State licensure as a Registered Nurse required.
2. Current CPR certification required.
3. National Wound Care certification required within 6 months of hire.

Compensation Information:
$46.16 / hourly - $46.16 / hourly


Starting At: 46.16 hourly
Up To: 66.93 hourly
