Sr. Manager, Accounting

We are seeking a highly analytical Sr. Payroll Accounting Manager to oversee our global payroll accounting operations. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing and approving all payroll-related journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations across multiple international entities. The ideal candidate will have expertise in multi-country payroll accounting and complex cost allocations, acting as the final quality control point before month-end close and the primary liaison during financial audits.

In this role you will:

Global Payroll Oversight & Review

  • Review and approve journal entries for global payroll across six jurisdictions: the US, Mexico, Honduras, the Philippines, the United Kingdom, and India.
  • Oversee the accounting treatment for off-cycle payroll runs in the US, Philippines, Mexico, and Honduras, ensuring accurate period recording.
  • Review complex cost center allocations to ensure payroll expenses are accurately distributed across client, location, and department levels.

Month-End Close & Cost Allocations

  • Review and approve mid-cycle payroll accrual calculations prepared by the accounting staff leading up to the calendar month-end close.
  • Review cost allocation journal entries to verify that shared service costs are accurately charged to the appropriate clients and locations in accordance with company policy.
  • Manage the monthly payroll close process, ensuring all payroll figures flow correctly into the general ledger and financial statements.
  • Oversee the balance sheet schedule preparation by the staff and ensure it reconciles to the general ledger and accurately represents the nature of items recorded on the balance sheet.

Bonus & Contract Management

  • Review and approve accruals and payout entries for various company bonus programs (Annual Management, Quarterly Operations, Retention, Sign-on Bonuses, and others).
  • Ensure the staff's working papers for bonus payouts accurately tie back to individual employee contracts, offer letters, and payout schedules.

Audit, Reconciliation & Compliance

  • Act as the primary payroll accounting liaison during internal and external financial audits.
  • Review and approve all audit deliverables prepared by the accounting staff, including journal entries, payroll registers, and reconciliations.
  • Ensure all cash disbursements are properly reconciled to payroll registers and general ledger journal entries.
We are looking for someone who has:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, certified public accountant or equivalent preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a focus on global payroll accounting and team leadership.
  • Proven ability to review complex cost center allocations, intercompany shared services, and month-end accruals.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle NetSuite, Sage 100) and advanced Excel proficiency.
