The position of Sr. Director Health & Safety Programs will be based out of our Dallas, TX location!This position will be a Hybrid position.
Summary
The Senior Director Health & Safety Programs plays a pivotal role in fostering a culture of safety across Rexel USA. This position involves close collaboration with Rexel USA business units and functional teams to design, implement, and oversee a comprehensive safety program tailored to the organization's needs. Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with all applicable safety regulations, conducting thorough safety audits and inspections, investigating incidents, and delivering essential safety training to employees. Additionally, the Senior Director Health & Safety Programs will proactively communicate safety concerns to management, aiming to mitigate workplace injuries and hazards effectively.
What You'll Do
- Develop and facilitate communication with field Operations regarding all safety topics
- Evaluate workloads, determine priority, and implement changes to continuously improve productivity and efficiency
- Develop and supervise team members to motivate positive attitude, career growth, and strong performance results
- Oversee staff selection, performance management, goal setting, training, and development
- Lead ongoing development of safety policies, programs, procedures, and training to ensure compliance and awareness
- Provide leadership and direction to employees of all levels to improve safety performance
- Develop and train employees to ensure implementation and adherence to safety policies and procedures
- Manage and track safety programs using various tools
- Complete periodic facility inspections to identify safety hazards and audit compliance with current safety policies and procedures, and document corrective action plans to address discovered deficiencies
- Lead the incident investigation process and coordinate corrective action measures
- Analyze, report, and own business safety metrics related to injury trends, insurance claims, and tracking/closure
- Manage all aspects of company environmental programs, including hazardous and universal waste
- Lead environmental and safety due diligence for property transactions and future acquisitions
- Develop strategies and policies designed to maintain compliance with federal and state laws and regulations throughout all business units
- Coordinate responses to inquiries from regulatory agencies such as OSHA
- Provide interpretation and direction regarding various compliance laws, regulations, guidelines, and standards that may impact the company
- Facilitate the Sustainable Development Program and prepare periodic reports
- Other duties as assigned

What You'll Need
- 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree
- 10+ years of significant experience in managing occupational safety and environmental compliance in a dispersed workforce setting
- Experience in managing a geographically dispersed workforce (distribution type business)
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) required

- Knowledge of safety practices and principles
- Strong planning, organizing, and prioritization skills in an ever-changing environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to communicate and influence across all levels of the business
- Proven track record of successfully building and maintaining business relationships/partnerships
- Self-starter and the ability to be an agent of change
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- In-depth knowledge of U.S. regulatory programs
- High integrity and sense of urgency
- Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Strong leadership and team building skills
