We are looking for a Director Total Rewards to join our Rexel team in Dallas, TX!

Summary:
The Director Total Rewards – Projects, Analytics & Process Optimization is a strategic, hands-on leader who reports to and partners closely with the Vice President of Total Rewards to operationalize strategy and drive execution across compensation, benefits, incentive programs, and payroll. This role leads strategic projects, M&A support, process optimization, and analytics to ensure Total Rewards programs are scalable, compliant, and aligned to business outcomes. The ideal candidate brings strong total rewards expertise, advanced data analytics and insight capabilities, and proven project leadership and process improvement skills to enable the VP's vision through cross-functional partnership, disciplined execution, and robust governance.

What You'll Do:

 

  • Lead analytics and optimization projects across compensation, benefits, incentives, and payroll, translating the VP's strategic priorities into clear roadmaps, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Build and advance Total Rewards analytics capabilities (dashboards, KPIs, predictive models) to evaluate program effectiveness, competitiveness, costs, retention risk, and pay equity; deliver insights and recommendations to HR and business leaders.
  • Design and execute process improvement initiatives across Payroll, Compensation, and Benefits to increase accuracy, timeliness, scalability, and employee experience, leveraging Lean/Six Sigma, Agile or similar methodologies.
  • Drive projects to refine compensation frameworks, job architecture, annual compensation cycles, and market benchmarking, ensuring they are data-driven, efficient, and consistently applied.
  • Lead analytics and optimization work related to benefits strategy, including program design enhancements, renewal and RFP support, vendor performance analysis, utilization reviews, and compliance monitoring.
  • Partner with Payroll, Finance, and HRIS on projects to strengthen controls, integrations, automation, and reporting, reducing manual effort and error rates while improving transparency and compliance.
  • Serve as the project manager for Total Rewards M&A deliverables and support efforts to include analytics and integration workstreams, due diligence assessments, harmonization and transition plans, and development of integration playbooks and templates.
  • Drive projects to enhance the use of compensation survey data, market intelligence, and rewards tools; recommend changes to ensure competitive and equitable offerings.
  • Act as a strategic analytics and optimization partner and right-hand leader to the VP of Total Rewards, turning strategy into actionable initiatives and influencing senior stakeholders with data-driven insights.
  • Lead and mentor a team focused on analytics, projects, and process optimization, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, experimentation, and measurable outcomes.
  • Establish and maintain Total Rewards data governance frameworks, ensuring data quality, consistency, privacy, and regulatory compliance across systems and reports.
  • Continuously scan the external market for trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in Total Rewards and HR analytics; propose and prioritize innovation opportunities.

Qualifications

What You'll Need

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in Total Rewards, Compensation/Benefits leadership, operational oversight of payroll advantageous.
  • Demonstrated success leading process optimization, systems implementation, and data-driven decision-making within Total Rewards.
  • Experience supporting M&A efforts in the areas of due diligence and integration for compensation, benefits, and payroll.
  • Certifications a plus: CCP, CBP, CPP, CEBS, PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, Lean/Six Sigma, Agile.
  • High School or GED - Required
  • 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree - Preferred
  • in Business Administration, Finance, or related field preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Demonstrated success leading process optimization, systems implementation, and data-driven decision-making within Total Rewards.
  • Strong knowledge of compensation and benefits, including market benchmarking, job architecture, incentive design, pay equity, vendor management, cost modeling, and regulatory compliance.
  • Advanced analytical capabilities, including building dashboards, models, and executive-ready reports; proficiency with Excel and BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx).
  • Familiarity with HRIS/HCM, compensation planning tools, benefits administration platforms, and payroll systems (e.g., ADP, SAP SuccessFactors, PayFactors/PayScale, Xactly).
  • Proven planning and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and deliver across multiple concurrent initiatives and deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills; able to influence and lead change with senior leaders and cross-functional partners.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and sound judgment; ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain strict confidentiality.
