Position Summary

 

We are seeking an Executive Vice President to join our team. This position is a senior level operations manager role for Richmond American Homes responsible for several departments in homebuilding operations (i.e. Land, Sales, Construction, Purchasing, Warranty, etc.). The position will report to the Division President and the incumbent will be provided with the opportunity to train within all departments across a division and, ultimately, the goal of the role is to become a “bench” incumbent for a future Division President opportunity. Our ideal candidate will have a passion for results and the drive to put in the time and effort to excel as a leader.

 

Responsibilities

 

The position will play a key role by partnering with senior leaders to maximize profits through establishing a business plan, achieving forecasts, and ensuring customer excellence. In addition, this position will be responsible for identifying and negotiating the purchases of new communities for Richmond American Homes and will help ensure that our business plan objectives are achieved by establishing strategic partnerships with Brokers and Land Sellers in the market.

Additional areas of focus include:

  • Support short- and long-range financial development and management of the division.
  • Communicate with corporate office to achieve corporate goals as well as division goals.
  • Support division in compliance with the Company's policies, procedures, and Corporate Compliance Program, as wells as with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Provide regular reports to the Corporate office regarding division activities.
  • Support talent acquisition, employee development, and retention of division staff.
  • Maintain professional affiliations and enhance professional growth and development to keep current in latest issues related to industry.
  • Maintain Division's positive reputation within the community; when necessary, attend hearings for proposed projects and meet with government officials.

 

Requirements

 

Education: Bachelor's degree preferred (business, marketing, finance, or related field)

Experience: At least 10 years production homebuilding experience and in a senior management role; should include: Finance, Sales, Construction, Land, or Purchasing, etc. Knowledge of fiscal management and human resource management techniques. Knowledge of governmental regulations and compliance requirements. Skill in planning, organizing, and supervising.

 

Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, problem-solving, and decision making. Skill in developing and maintaining effective relationships with management, staff, board of directors, policy-making bodies, banking personnel, and the public. Good negotiation skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
