Title: Breast Ultrasound Technologist

Regular Company: Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center Department: Diagnostic Radiology Time Type: Full time Weekly Hours: 40 FTE: 1 Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Summary: Produces ultrasonic images of the breast and axilla for use by physicians in the diagnosis of disease; performs routine screening and diagnostic breast imaging exams as requested; assists radiologist in biopsies, seed locs, aspirations, and other procedures as needed; maintains exam room supplies. Qualifications: Required Education and Experience

License and Certification Requirement
1. License to practice as a Radiologic Technologist in the State of New York OR Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography and certified by an accredited institution as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.
2. Current Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).

Education and Experience
1. License to practice as a Radiologic Technologist in the State of New York, an Associate's degree and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience as an Ultrasound Technologist; or
2. Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography and certified by an accredited institution as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience as an Ultrasound Technologist; or
3. Equivalent experience gained by the completion of technical training as an Ultrasound Technologist at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center or an approved school or training institution may be substituted for the above experience requirement.

NOTE:
1. As a condition of continued employment, incumbents must obtain and maintain the certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) within ninety (90) days of their appointment to this title.
2. Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

• ARDMS certification in breast ultrasound
• Minimum of 2 years experience performing breast ultrasound
• Experience performing breast ultrasound procedures
• Knowledge of breast anatomy and pathology
