The Transportation Lead Senior will dispatch all driving assignments, communicate with internal and external customers, and oversee all CDL drivers. This role will mentor and coach team members in all aspects of transportation project support.
As a Transportation Lead Senior, you will:
- Lead and manage team members including providing guidance and training
- Load and secure shipments properly, including vehicles, and safely unload at destination
- Maintain vehicle records by entering mileage and writing vehicle shippers
- Operate power industrial trucks (PIT) and pallet jacks
- Interact and communicate with internal and external customers to resolve issues
- Manage employee conflict, safety incidents, and emergency situations
- Assist in leading daily organization and clean-up of vehicles
- Track and approve attendance, scheduling, and timecard.
- Perform, maintain, and document daily inspections
To be considered as a Transportation Lead Senior, you will need:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 4 years of transportation experience
- Minimum of 6 months of formal or informal leadership experience
- Excellent driving record
- Able to pass Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination
- Able to inspect and maintain trucks
- Able to interpret maps and determine routing
- Able to drive safely in tight settings such as construction zones
A successful candidate may also have:
- Hazardous Materials Endorsement (HME) on Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A or B
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A or B
- Chauffeurs License (CDL) A or B
- Experience operating a power industrial truck (PIT)
- Experience loading and unloading vehicles and equipment
- Basic computer skills
- Good attention to detail and organizational skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
