Job Summary:

The Continuous Improvement Specialist is responsible for evaluating processes and configuring manufacturing systems to improve operating capability and sustainability while maintaining all applicable safety and reliability standards. Develop best practices within the production process, and to research and propose new equipment, or equipment modifications.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Work closely with production and support personnel to develop and optimize process settings and document as Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Analyze workflows within and across all departments to determine how the entire company can work better together.
  • Review the KPI monitoring systems and determine ways to improve their ability to maintain company operations.
  • Create an analytical process that justifies business decisions.
  • Analyze capital expenditures and project designs to help find ways to cut costs.
  • Utilize engineering principles and data analysis to reduce variation in manufacturing processes.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement.
  • Develop innovative solutions: research and recommend new manufacturing technology.
  • Assist in training personnel in the proper and safe operation of equipment.
  • Formulate hypotheses and recommend tests to prove theories.
  • Work with the technical department to document BO<'s and process settings and assist with line trials.
  • Follow all site and OSHA safety rules while in office areas and on production floor. Set an example for all employees by adhering to the site Dress Code including wearing all required PPE.
  • Additional duties as may be assigned

Non-Essential Job Functions:

  • Maintain relevant professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
  • Other duties as required and assigned.

Job Specifications (Includes Education/Certifications/Licenses, etc.)

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline required.
  • 5+ years in quality or business process engineering.
  • Excellent math and statistical analysis skills. Excellent eye for detail.
  • Proven history in improving supply chain/Value Stream efficiency.
  • Comfortable with integrating new technology into an existing business environment.
  • Problem solving, methodically work to establish root cause of process variation.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies and lean manufacturing.
  • Background in statistical process controls.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Ability to professionally and effectively interact across all levels of personnel within the organization.
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, PC Platforms, HMI).
  • Self-motivated with drive to accomplish various tasks under minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility to work off shift to accommodate and support Production needs.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent sitting throughout workday for phone use, computer work, and face-to-face meetings.
  • Frequent standing and walking throughout workday while on the production floor.
  • Climb stairs to and from office area.

Work Environment:

  • Partial day in an office environment with moderate temperature, good lighting, and low to moderate noise level.
  • Partial day on production floor environment with seasonal high and low temperatures, good lighting, and moderate to high noise level.

Compensation Information :

The compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's relevant experience; education, including relevant degrees or certifications; work location; market data/ranges; internal equity; internal salary ranges; etc.

Compensation ranges for the position are below:

Pay Type :

Salaried

Minimum Pay Range:

55000

Maximum Pay Range:

60000

The position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentive plan based on the level and/or type.
